Health Enterprise East (HEE) is a leading NHS Innovation and Technology Consultancy working with healthcare companies and the NHS to turn innovative ideas into products and services that will benefit patients, the NHS and the wider economy.
Key aspects of HEE’s work include providing IP management and technology transfer services to our network of 24 NHS member organisations across the South of England. With a growing NHS membership client base we are currently looking to recruit an Innovation Manager to work across an extensive portfolio of medical technologies and help deliver them to market.
The role will be very varied and provide opportunity to develop a broad knowledge of commercialisation approaches.
As Innovation Manager you will work closely with the Innovation Team and NHS research & innovation leads to provide technology transfer support to our network of member organisations. Your role would include reviewing innovation disclosures, managing IP portfolios and proof-of-concept projects, developing commercialisation strategies, negotiating terms with licensees, and supporting the relationship between HEE and our member Trusts.
This is a fantastic opportunity to enable the successful commercial exploitation of medical technologies, software and related Intellectual Property (IP) from within the NHS working alongside world-leading clinicians and researchers.
Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will have a strong all-round knowledge of IP and commercialisation strategies relating to the development of innovative new technologies. Candidates should have a degree or equivalent level experience in a science, engineering or IT related discipline and further intellectual property and/or project management qualifications are desirable, but not essential.
This is a client facing role requiring strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
